Birthday adventure round two! (Click HERE for our first adventure of the day)

After our awesome heli ride to Meade Glacier we headed back to our room, on the cruise ship, to rest for a couple hours. We then headed to a tour bus that took us into the deep forests of Alaska for Zip-lining!

We’ve zip lined all over the world without even realizing it but this was by far our best experience doing so. They allowed you to bring your own cameras (e.i. GoPro attached to a GoPole). At some Zipline locations no cameras are allowed as you zip and most locations only allow you to speed away in one direction: right side up, forward. That being said, Skagway Ziplining was NOT one of those restricted locations. Our very entertaining guides, Corey and Zach, encouraged us to do crazy things!

For example, they told everyone to do a front flip…OFF one of the platform. At most, they said “try”.
We had our safety equipment that would prevent us from falling to our deaths, but still, it was a little daunting. All in all, it was amazingly fun. We went backwards, forwards, upside down, right side up, spun off, ran off, and flipped off in all angles and directions. Our guides said “Whatever you’re comfortable with doing, you can do it, even if that means going upside down on each one”. Smiles were shared at all 9 platforms with 2 of them bringing you over Grizzly Falls.

If Meade Glacier was the more serious/spiritual, maybe even a life changing undertone, then ziplining was its complete opposite in it being lighthearted, laughter filled, and fast paced.
Both had their great moments but both have their own unique qualities that blended together for the best birthday anyone could ask for.
