dsc00625Although it was not in our plans to walk the little strip at The Linq, I’m glad we did. The Linq hotel is located in the middle of the strip and there is a promenade. The promenade has outdoor retail, restaurants, and entertainment along the strip. At the end of the promenade lies a giant Ferris wheel which is known as The High Roller.

The High Roller is in the top 5 tallest Ferris wheel in the world. It stands at a staggering 550 feet/167 meters. It consists of 28 transparent pods that can hold 40 passengers each. Even though there weren’t many people (just 5 people total in our pod including the bartender), the pods were very roomy regardless. It also had benches inside.  Each pod is unique but we were specifically there for the open bar pod. They also offer yoga classes or an observation wheel which is perfect for families of all ages.

dsc00632Here it is, open bar for 30 minutes! The bartender just kept feeding us drinks whether it be by your request or something he wanted us to try. I enjoyed the drinks he personalized with his unique signature as it was different. Everything tasted fruity and delicious!

dsc00639I told the bartender to make me anything fruity, he called it: “The Las Vegas Sunrise”. It was amazing! I think when you give the opportunity for a bartender to make his own craft, they make it the best to their ability and seem to enjoy it a bit more.

dsc00636-2 dsc00643The pods offered a panoramic view of Las Vegas. The above picture is the city view from the high roller. We went around 6pm so it was nice and cool, atmospheric wise. The views were incredible as we saw the Bellagio fountain, live, at the Ferris Wheels peak. The photo below is the desert side. (check out the vlog)

dsc00646If you’re planning on checking out the High Roller, I suggest purchasing the tickets online as it may be cheaper. When we were there, they offered a $5 off coupon if you are riding the monorail. High Roller is a great way to see the view of Las Vegas if you are on a budget and don’t want to do the Helicopter ride.

Tips:
-Use the bathroom before you enter the pod! Especially if you’re there for the open bar.
-Go during or right before sunset (beautiful lighting)
-Walk the promenade at night to see the High Roller lit up.
