Hawaii has really been pumping out the uniqueness in scares this year. Scream 808 offers two attractions: Haunted House followed by Zombie Paintball if you purchased. I’ll be honest, after reviewing all other haunted houses and going to some that don’t deserve a spot on our Halloween favorites, Scream 808 does the “Haunted House” theme perfectly! It may not be rooted in realism like the Haunted Plantation but it sure has the most realistic props!

THE REVENGE OF DR. CARNAGE

As we’ve visited the haunted attractions throughout Oahu, we were constantly impressed and picked up certain things we really enjoyed: props, make-up, and actors. Well, we have to say Scream 808 scored a 10/10 in the prop section with amazing life-like props that kept us guessing if they were real or not making us watch our backs throughout the experience. Hands down the best prop would have to be an actor laying on a table while another ripped her apart (it was a prosthetic leg) – now that was amazing! Great performance on the actors who were screaming their voices out.

Under our circumstances, we caught up to two groups so we didn’t receive that initial scream or ‘jump out from the darkness with a real weapon in their hands to attack you’ experience. It’s understandable because the line was extremely long: 1:30hr-2:00hr wait – This had to be a daunting and draining task on the actors. In certain instances we could see them sweating making their make-up run and in some sections when we were in the same room, actors were running back to their spots to scare then next unsuspecting victim.
Now for our favorite piece of any set would be this ‘moving tunnel’ or ‘spinning vortex’ – not really sure what to call it. It was a bridge that you would walk through but the cylinder around you is moving at a fast pace cause dizziness and pretty much altered your brain-to-body functionality. It was hilarious and fun (again, another amazing performance by the actor that was able to jump and scare you on the bridge.

We have to give it up to Scream 808: You’ve won the best “Haunted House” in our books. Keep up the great work!

THE ZOMBIE UPRISING
(ZOMBIE PAINTBALL)

If the Haunted House portion was not enough to get your money’s worth then the ending is: ZOMBIE. PAINTBALL. That’s right, you get to shoot zombies with paintball guns. Who doesn’t love shooting zombies?! Upon exiting the house, you receive a pump-action paintball gun with approximately 10 bullets (not entirely sure as we didn’t count). You then line up against a wall and on the other side are zombies walking about that you can unload on. Anything goes here: head shots, body shots, legs, arms, hands. It wasn’t quite what we imagined because we thought we would be walking/running through a maze/Haunted House with guns and able to shoot zombies but it was still worth it. We had an amazing time!

After releasing some stress by shooting the zombies, feel free to take pictures (and use the props) with Scream 808‘s 9ft. characters: Neatherspawn and Rotty.

Along the lines of The Outbreak Experience, Scream 808 Haunted House props and Paintball Gallery were among our favorite attractions this year to get you into the mood for Halloween.

  1. Helllo would you mind stating which blog platform
you’re working with? I’m going to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal.
The reason I ask is because your design and style seems different thhen most blogs and
I’m looking for something completely unique.

P.S My apologies for being off-topic but I had to ask!
