Spending a day in Seattle, Washington was great but now it was time for the main event: Cruise to Alaska on a Norwegian Cruise Line – The Norwegian Pearl. As for adventurous activities there were none on the first day. However, they had a lot of social gatherings such as: Couples Bingo Night, Solo Cruisers Social Meet-up, DJ Hits at the club, and many more!

We arrived on board at 12PM and departed at 3Pm(15:00). Immediately after entering the ship, we went directly to the “all-you-can-eat” buffet! Just outside was the pool so the boys (Landon and Gavin) had a great time swimming in nice 80°F/26°C weather. It was a massive party basically, food and drinks were all around the pool area. Friendly workers were cooking some tasty meats on a barbecue and if that did not suffice, another buffet table was right by the pool serving fruits, hot dogs, fries and hamburgers.

While we were grinding down on some fresh watermelon and warm Kal-Bi, the ship blared its horn and took off. Since it was a clear day, the visibility of our surroundings extended many miles. As the sun slowly set…and I mean, SLOWLY – Sunset was at 9:30PM(2100) – we headed to our room and prepared for a nice dinner.

Dinner reservations for the first night was at an elegant French Restaurant. We were able to sample Escargot for the first time and dessert was a fantastic fondue with fresh fruits!
The rest of the first day was an all day sail to our next destination:
Juneau, Alaska!
