Often times, women forget to prepare for their period during their travel. I used to be that person until I learned something new. Now, no matter the circumstance, I always pack a feminine care bag with me. Even if I don’t have to use it, it’s useful for others that I’m traveling with or if I come across someone who may be in need of it. Yes, that happens! I’ve been asked a few times in the bathroom if I have a pad or tampons. You may never know – it’s always good to carry feminine care products!

First thing I do prior to traveling is tracking my period. For a ‘normal’ cycle, a period comes every month. Sometimes a week early or a week late – For some it’s hard to get an accurate date, that’s why it’s always good to be prepared if you’re travel bound during those moments. I’ve been pretty consistent with my period and can ballpark the week I’ll have it. If I know that I’ll be traveling during my period, I’ll pack a full feminine care bag to last me the whole trip. If I won’t be traveling during my period, I’ll go lighter and just pack pantyliners, wipes, and a few tampons and pads. Better to be safe than sorry, you don’t want to be in a country where they don’t sell the right sanitary needs for you – It’s happened to me before!

Since I’ve been searching for new products through all aspects of our lives, I found out about Seventh Generation™ Free & Clear feminine care products! Free and Clear means the product is free of any fragrances, dyes, or chlorine. I love that all Seventh Generation™ products are free of animal products and are not tested on animals. We love plant-based products in our household! Being that it’s plant-based, all their fragrances are from an essential oil or other botanical ingredients. It’s so important to know what you’re putting in your body and Seventh Generation™ has come to the rescue!! Here’s what I use for feminine care:

Seventh Generation™ Comfort Applicator Tampons (18 count)

The Seventh Generation™ Comfort Applicator Tampons are a new product. This certified organic tampon has effective leak protection and is available in Regular and Super Absorbency. It has 0% added fragrances so that delicate skin is not exposed to unnecessary chemicals. It’s also one of the only plant-based plastic applicator tampons on the market!

Free & Clear fragrance-free Ultra-Thin Pads with Wings (18 count)

These comfortable fit pads with wings are available in Super Long or Over Night pads. Using pads is the most comfortable for me while on my period.

Free & Clear Pantiliners (50 count)

When I’m not on my period, I always wear pantiliners. It safely traps fluid away from the skin to always keep you dry for reliable, leak-free protection and comfort. These are chlorine, fragrance, or dye free and available in regular size.

Once you know what to pack, the easiest part is putting the products in a bag; I like having a clear sanitary bag because I can see what I have and grab it right away. Also, it’s great to have the right size bag to fit all of your essential needs.Along with feminine care products, Seventh Generation™ also has laundry detergents, cleaning supplies, baby diapers and wipes, hand soap, dishwashing detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, napkins and trash bags. USEFUL PACKING LIST FOR TRAVELING ON YOUR PERIOD

SANITARY CARE PRODUCTS

As I mentioned, bring as much as possible depending on the length and flow of your period. When I’m packing for pads, tampons, and pantiliners, I usually count how many products I need daily.

FEMININE WIPES & SANITIZER

When traveling, you never know if the bathroom will have soap, tissue paper or nothing! Most washrooms/toilets do not allow you to flush things down the drain, therefore, you’ll have to dispose of it by hand. Make sure to pack some feminine wipes and hand sanitizer. This will help you stay clean!

MEDICATION

There’s no way I could survive a period without having some type of pain reliever for those miserable cramps. More than likely, someone in your party while traveling will be looking for it too so bring a few. Sharing is caring!

HEATING PAD

I used to get really bad period cramps during high school and remember using a heating pad to soothe the pain. If you’re that person that needs it even after taking pain reliever medication. You might want to consider a disposable heating pad!

COMFORTABLE CLOTHING

Lastly, during your period comes bloating. Pack smart by bringing some comfortable clothes to wear, nothing tight! Remember, you can still look cute and fashionable while being comfortable.
