After landing, we picked up our rental car, already booked by TravelChic World, and headed to our first accommodation.

DAY 1

Our booked accommodation was the Honua Kai Resort & Spa. It reminded us of the Disney Aulani Resort on Oahu. It had beach front access, available barbecue areas, multiple pools for all age classes and Jacuzzis for those exhausted parents. We arrived early and spent the majority of the day at one of their pools. After officially getting our room and settling in, we made dinner and went to sleep for an early day excursion.

DAY 2

We woke up before sunrise for our first adventure in Maui. Our activity was one of our all-time favorite things to do while in Maui, snorkeling at Molokini Crater. TravelChic World booked us with Quicksilver Charters. The charter also offers dinner-sunset cruises, designated whale watching excursions and features a glass bottom. After a long day out at water (ending around 2 pm), we headed up the road from Lahaina Harbor to our next stay – Camp Olowalu. Here, we enjoyed a barbecue, s’mores, becoming one with nature, gravitating closer to one another through bonding, showering under the open sky, and star gazing until gravity beat the power of our eyelids. It was Glamping at its finest.

Waking up to the beating sun, we packed up and headed out with the mission to explore Maui. We did just that. Instead of the famous ‘road-to-Hana’ we went around the West Maui Mountain Range which lead to roads like the one pictured above, single lane ‘highway’.

It was the real country on the West Side, and we enjoyed it very much, stopping by certain dive spots and scenic view points to take pictures. It was a good scouting as the next day, we found ourselves at one of the spots we observe during this leisurely-costal drive.

After a tour of the West, we headed back to Camp Olowalu to spend the night in the carpark area.

DAY 3

Our final day was spent at one of the many beautiful beaches. One was at a dive spot called Honolua Bay (pictured above), and the rest of the half (before our plane ride) was spent at Makena Beach Park (pictured below). Since we dove at Molokini Crater, it spoiled our snorkeling experience which made us decide to skip hanging too long in Honolua Bay.

However, Honolua Bay is a nice spot to go snorkeling, as well, if you are unable to book a boat tour to Molokini.

We planned on having a relaxing Maui vacation without it being too jam-packed with activities. Although we didn’t get to go to Haleakala on this trip and know there are much more things to see on Maui, we managed to do an activity every day. Being that Maui is in our ‘backyard,’ we will be back to explore the island thoroughly. Half of our trip wouldn’t have been as successful if not for April and her crafty planning skills.
