While waiting at the airport in Honolulu, we met two families who were from Anchorage and organically got into conversation. Of course, we had to ask for the best local recommendations – where to eat, what to do, etc. Both families recommended eating at Moose’s Tooth. Even their children’s eyes lit up and said “Yeah! That’s our favorite!”. We made sure we weren’t leaving Anchorage without trying this place out.
Moose’s Tooth is a pub and pizzeria. The night before heading to the restaurant, we had dinner with our relatives. We asked them what time would be the best time to go and they mentioned that this place is always crowded at any time of the day! We went the next day, just a little after it opened and sure enough, it was filled. They gave us the buzzer and waited about 10 minutes for a table. Whenever we go to restaurants and have a waiting time, we like to browse the menu in the meantime.

Alaska has many pubs and breweries around. So, we had to try the flight beer. This was only $5.25 and you get to choose 4 beers from their long list of beers. While we’re not beer drinkers – we like to experiment with new drinks once in awhile. This was a great sampler for those wanting to try a few cold brew! The service was also impeccable because if we didn’t like any of the options we chose for the flight beer, we could replace them with another one. It’s a great way to sample the local beer.
Ceasar Salad, $5.25 – They have two sizes for salad, I went with the small ceasar which had their award-winning dressing and a think layer of parmesan cheese.
Mushroom Soup, $5.25 for a bowl – They have a smaller cup or larger bowl size for soups. Their mushroom soup is homemade and it’s the most delicious mushroom soupI’vee ever tasted in my life! No joke, this soup is amazing! Nothing like I’ve tasted before and definitely not from a can.
It wouldn’t be a pizzeria without pizza! Moose’s Tooth is known for its numerous choices of pizza. Landon went with his regular cheese pizza and Reid went with the Veggie Delight. They offer pizzas with chicken, meat, seafood, vegetable, and create your own. Sizes are from small, medium and large. I love that they have the pizza pan sizes on the wall to get a reference if the actual size – It’s perfect for the family to share!
Hot Turkey Sandwich, $10.95 – They also have sandwiches and this isn’t just a regular sandwich bread – It’s wrapped in their famous pizza dough! I love that!
We definitely enjoyed our dining experience at Moose’s Tooth and will go back again when we visit! We have to get around to trying those wings! If you’re looking for a great place to eat and drink, this is it! Perfect for anyone, especially families!
