Hanauma Bay is one of the top visited locations on the island of Oahu. With abundadnt sea life, great beach amenities, lifeguards at the watch, and an amazing view, there is no doubt why it attracts millions of visitors per year. Fins, body floaties, and snorkels are available for rent on the beach but if possible, bringing your own mask and fins would be cheaper and worth it in the long run. In all honesty, there really isn’t much need for the fins here as the current isn’t too rough. The water is also very shallow – in some spots, you can still stand up to 25 meters out. (Just a Heads up – To preserve the raw beauty of this locations and for others to enjoy its wonder in the future, please do not stand on the coral/reef!)

This spot is great however, there are by far better alternatives to take your family with far less crowds. Click here to see what we think are better activities!
