After coming home from our Las Vegas trip, we heard about a new AYCE (All You Can Eat) sushi in Waikiki. Kaku’s Sushi & Seafood Buffet was founded by chef Kaku Makino who also has an AYCE sushi restaurant in Las Vegas called Makino. We were excited to try out Kaku’s especially after eating buffet style in Las Vegas!

Tip: If you have a big group, be sure to make reservations in advance!
There are different stations at Kaku’s such as the sushi, hot food, ramen, salad and fruits, and dessert stations. The buffet menu changes depending on their availability. For this visit, we went during dinner. As soon as the restaurant opened, there were groups of people coming in!
SUSHI STATION
There are many choices in the buffet, check out the menu here. There is also a paper on the table where you can special order sushi that is not served in the buffet line. You can order these first, that way once you’re back from the buffet, your special order is ready on the table.
HOT FOOD STATION
The hot food station offers a mix of meat and seafood which I enjoyed! They had fried noodles, fried rice, dynamite oyster (my favorite!), teriyaki chicken, miso tilapia, jumbo shrimp, orange chicken, miso butterfish, tonkatsu, rib eye steak, shrimp tempura, vegetable tempura, mussels, and much more.
RAMEN STATION
At the ramen station, you can pick between ramen or udon. The noodles are boiled in front of you and you can add your own garnishes from spring onions, kamaboko, tempura batter pieces, mochi rice cakes, and more.
SALAD & FRUIT STATION
The salad station had a lot of salad choices and side dishes. Along with fresh fruits such as pineapple, watermelon, and orange.
CREPE STATION
The crepe station had a selection of fruits such as strawberries, bananas, and pineapple tidbits. To make it even better, you can make it a la mode with ice cream. They have different types of flavors on the list but during my visit, they had chocolate and vanilla.
Final thoughts about the buffet, I enjoyed the hot food station the most as it had a variety of meat and seafood. For dessert, I love the crepe station and would like to see more dessert options. Overall, I would definitely come back with the entire family!
