Last weekend, we had a pleasure of having a staycation in Honolulu. Located on a low-traffic street in Waikiki, lies a lifestyle boutique hotel, Waikiki Parc. It’s a perfect place for our family since it’s walking distance from Waikiki beach (which Landon liked) and close to shopping (which Mary enjoyed). It’s always a great time when we have the chance to stay in Waikiki, especially when staying at a welcoming hotel.

Waikiki Parc Hotel is a lifestyle boutique hotel which caters to the needs of today’s business, leisure, and active traveler. It offers excellent hotel facilities such as the pool, lanai, gym, and other lifestyle experiences. Along with an exceptional staff who were kind and helpful throughout our stay. As a family that seeks excellent customer service, Waikiki Parc staff went above and beyond!

Parking was straightforward, valet was available right on Helumoa Road. If you opt out of using valet, self-parking is available on Kalia Road, just outside the hotel.

We arrived on time (3 PM) for check-in, as soon as you enter the hotel, you’ll notice the high ceilings and colorful lounge chairs in the Lobby (both sides). The front desk was between the two sides as the friendly staff readily greeted guests to check-in.

For those of you who have a red-eye flight and arrive at the hotel earlier than your check-in time, Waikiki Parc hotel offers a Guest Lounge. Open around the clock (24hrs), complete with comfortable seating, flat screen tv, magazines, newspapers, and the best part – a refreshment bar! Also, the guest lounge offers computers for guests to print out boarding passes (keep in mind, some airlines require printed boarding passes only)

The refreshment bar consists of sweet treats, coffee, and tea.

LIFESTYLE ACTIVITIES & SERVICES

One of the most exciting parts of Waikiki Parc is the lifestyle experiences offered exclusively for the hotel guests: The most exciting experience would have to be the PARC Access. Unlike other boutique hotels, your room key gives you VIP access to Oahu’s premiere arts and cultural destinations such as the Bishop Museum, Honolulu Museum of Art, and Spalding House, at the Honolulu Museum of Art. This unique feature hammers the point home of “lifestyle” hotel; it truly engages your inner wanderer and helps you explore beautiful Hawaii.

If you don’t have a rental car to visit the museums, the most efficient way would be to take an Uber or ride TheBus (which the front desk or concierge can help you with).

Waikiki Parc also offers other activities for those active guests such as Parc Active and Parc Surf:
  • Parc Active – Each morning at 8:00 AM there is a complimentary fitness or exercise class. There are classes for yoga, beach walk, beachin’ core, meditation, chi gong – Tai Chi and latin dance. Each day offers different classes on specific days, visit here.
  • Parc Surf – Waikiki Parc partnered with Hans Hedemann Surf School, offering surf or stand-up paddleboard lessons daily. You’ll meet in the lobby and walk over to Waikiki Beach. Book your lessons with the Concierge during your stay. (If you have water shoes, bring them! Waikiki is shallow and has coral reefs)

AMENITIES

As for the amenities, they are located on the 8th floor. It’s very convenient being that everything is on the same level. As soon as you get off the elevator, a sign leads you to either the Pool Deck or Parc Lanai. On the same floor, also the fitness center and laundry room (coin-operated machines and soap dispensers).

The Park Lanai offers ample amount of room for group gatherings. There are also a few chairs around for relaxation.

467A7329-2

Parc Blue Pool is open for 12 hours which is easy to remember – it’s on the 8th floor, and is open from 8am-8pm. The pool starts at 3ft and goes down to 4ft., which is the deepest. Being that it’s on the 8th floor, it provides a little privacy from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki. During our stay over the weekend and being at the pool every day, it was very quiet. You’re able to relax on the beach chairs or the lounge chairs – there was a lot of them! The pool area also had pool towels available and a drink vending machine.

If you decide to head down to the beach, complimentary beach towels and mats are available at the front desk.

The Fitness Center had a pool view and is open daily from 5am-11pm. It was divided into two room which had the cardio room and strength room. Both rooms had water dispensers and towels available. Don’t forget that the hotel also offers complimentary daily fitness classes!

DINE & MINGLE

Waikiki Parc makes sure they don’t leave their guests hungry. So, they have different options to offer such as Breakfast at Parc AM, In-Room Dining, Halekulani Restaurants (La Mer for fine dining, Orchids for more casual elegance, or House Without A Key for a relaxed ambiance). Also, every Friday at Waikiki Parc hotel, they have a complimentary wine mixer where you can mingle with the General Manager from 5:30pm-6:30pm.

Let’s start with breakfast at Parc AM which is located next to the hotel lobby. During our stay, we had the Ocean View Free Breakfast Promo – Check out Waikiki Parc’s packages during your stay, and you can enjoy a free breakfast as well! From 6am-10am, Parc AM buffet breakfast offered hot and cold American and Japanese options, leaving us fulfilled and ready to take on the day!

Did we mention that you get unlimited POG juice (Passion Orange Guava), Guava juice?! Our favorite! Landon was VERY happy when they offered him POG! The staff was also very quick at refilling your drinks. This puts the hotel service at a high rating for us!

Being that Parc AM was a buffet, they had an omelet station along with a pancake station. Where you can choose toppings from banana or chocolate chip or if you’re daring, both toppings in one!

If you’re not having breakfast at Parc AM, they offer a complimentary tea and coffee for all guests every morning!

We were thrilled to have stayed over the weekend and able to join the Friday night wine mixer event! They offered white and red wine, along with POG juice for kids. (Tip: Mix white wine and POG together, so good!) There was also cheese and fruit platter to pair with your wine. This is a complimentary event, every Friday in the lobby from 5:30pm-6:30pm.

Lastly, being that Waikiki Parc is a sister property to Halekulani (which is located right across the street), guests are welcome to dine at any of the restaurants and bars. From La Mer, L’Aperitif Cocktail Bar, Orchids, House Without a Key, and Lewers Lounge. We had dinner at House Without a Key for the first time and it was delicious! Especially, the coconut cake!

 OCEAN VIEW ROOM

Our Ocean View room overlooked the Pacific Ocean and parts of Waikiki. Aside from the ocean view rooms, Waikiki Parc also offers a mountain view or city view rooms. Each room comes with central air conditioning with individual room temperature control. It also comes with a complimentary high-speed WIFI with NO resort fees! Our room also had a view of the Friday night Fireworks in Waikiki from the balcony.
