The famous Waimea Beach Park. Being a local, it is one of our most cherished spots on our home island. Today, we planned on arriving late after lunch and stayed until sunset. This is definitely a top ten spot if you visit Oahu, local or tourist alike. It is a wide, white-sand beach with very limited parking but if you are lucky enough to get a spot you are going to love it! There are bathroom facilities available for use but pack your lunch and bring plenty of water! A rock (famously known as Waimea Rock) rises approximately 20 feet/6 meters out of the water that the adventurous jump off. All in all, Waimea Bay is one of those special places on the planet that you’ll be glad to say you have visited. To us, it is one of the top beaches in Hawaii.

Don’t forget to pack your snorkels and fins!

The parking lot is always crowded – it’s quite small. Cars ended up parking on the grass (careful though because you may get a ticket). We recommend carpooling if possible!

Parking is crazy however, there is parking available in several other locations besides Waimea’s main parking lot. Following the road, passed Waimea’s entrance, a church is located on the right that offers parking – $5 for the day. There’s also a stretch of parking along the side of the road before entering Waimea. Lastly, about a mile walk away, is street parking in residential neighborhoods both before and after Waimea Beach and the Church.
