Ala Moana Beach Park – Oahu Local Guide (2026)

Ala Moana is a lagoon with shallow, placid water making it absolutely kid friendly! Parking is free and plentiful. There are walking and jogging trails along with fitness spots scattered throughout the area. Take a lounge on the sand or on the grass across the street, either way, both are very relaxing. Also included are showers to clean yourself up after a salty dip or sweaty run. This beach park is beautifully landscaped and has a nice view of Diamond head. A couple of things to consider: Rocks – mostly located on the right side (facing the ocean) of the lagoon and the water can get very murky than most local spots due to the concentrated salinity.

Tip: Be there extra early during special holidays! 4am-6am early! Parking can fill up quickly!
