Our family’s go-to sushi spot on the island has opened a new location! Today (March 1, 2019) is the grand opening at their newest location at Kapolei Commons on Oahu. It’s the largest Genki Sushi in Hawaii!
If you’re not familiar with Genki Sushi, it’s been around since 1968 and is known for the revolving conveyor belt to serve fresh sushi! With 8 locations all over Oahu, Genki Sushi is a well-known place for sushi and its welcoming staff! At the new location (Kapolei Commons), they have the touch screen order on an iPad and bullet express train which delivers the order straight to your table! Also, they are serving ramen! It’s not on the menu but the staff will gladly help you!
With sushi plates starting at $1.95, Genki Sushi is very affordable! It’s definitely a locals’ favorite! Check out the menu, here.

2026 Update
Genki Sushi at Kapolei Commons remains open and continues to be a popular sushi destination. Current hours are Monday through Thursday 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM, Friday and Saturday 10:30 AM to 10:00 PM, and Sunday 10:30 AM to 9:00 PM.
Note: Prices have increased since our original visit. Sushi plates now start at approximately $2.75 and up. The iPad ordering system and bullet express train delivery remain popular features at this location.
