dsc00325During our girls trip, we were on the go day and night (you can’t sleep in Vegas). Luckily, the bar we checked out was open 24 hours! The Golden Tiki is located right off the strip, in Chinatown. If you’re an explorer like me, this unique bar is perfect for you!

I’ve personally never been to a fully dedicated “themed” bar before so I was really excited to check it out. When we arrived, the entrance already had me enlivened. Once you walk in the first door, it’s dark, smoke effect everywhere and loud tiki music (we are in for an adventure!) Then the second door led to the bar and it was much vaster than I imagined.

dsc00337Once you’re in, all you’re going to wanna do is look around since the place is full of incredible artifacts. What we learned during our time there was that all artifacts and Tiki’s in the bar are special and hand picked by the owner, Brandon Powers. Some items were Disneyland’s Haunted Mansion such as the ghost ship and goblet; the bar is definitely a treasure trove! The music and sound effects definitely felt like I stepped into an enchanted tiki realm. They had waterfalls, tiki gods, huts, comfy couches, and the bar wraps like an L shape in the middle of the room.

dsc00381In this bar, there are two rooms with the first one being the Golden Tiki room and towards the back was the Pirates’ Lair. The Pirate’s Lair had a huge pirate ship where tables and chairs surrounded it.

Also, there was Mermaid’s Cove around the bar area just before the Pirates’ Lair. Talk about a mini-amusement park but for adults!

Now on to the tropical drinks: we each ordered different drinks since there were so many interesting ones and we wanted to try it all.

I decided to go with the Banana Batida (a Brazilian cocktail) which had Avua cachaca mixed with banana liqueur, coconut cream, and Dole pineapple whip, then topped with grated nutmeg. It was incredible! The drink was quite strong which is a good thing because I only needed one drink.

dsc00357Hemingway’s Ruin consisted of Don’s Mix with cinnamon and grapefruit added to Cana Brava rum. Also Maraschino Liquor and lime juice.

dsc00363Painkiller contains Pusser’s Rum, fresh orange juice, coconut cream and Dole whip, topped with fresh ground nutmeg.

Last but not least, our favorite, Dole Whip Float with Rum. Thanks to our bartender who recommended this scrumptious offering. I’ve had dole whip before but there was something about it being the best one I’ve tasted or it might have been because it consisted booze.

dsc00376Every concoction we were able to try at The Golden Tiki bar was to die for! Sometimes, off the strip bars are better than what they offer on the strip. I’m so glad we ended up trying this place out, we had a great time!
