On our recent staycation, we checked in to Hilton Waikiki Beach. Located just one block away from Waikiki beach and a few minutes walk from Waikiki’s attractions, such as the Honolulu Zoo, Waikiki Aquarium, Waikiki strip’s shops, dining, and nightlife. If you’re looking to experience the city life of Waikiki, this is the perfect place to stay!

Hilton Waikiki Beach was formally known as “Hilton Prince Kuhio”. While the name changed, the spirit of Aloha remains within the hotel through its staff and ambiance. As soon as you check-in you’ll feel at home!

LOBBY

As mentioned above, Hilton Waikiki Beach does not have self-parking, only valet. After speaking with the valet, we headed straight to the front desk and checked-in. Aside from the array of chairs in the lobby, I couldn’t help but look around as there were many things to do on the same floor.

Next to the front desk is a refreshment table available to guests 24/7. It’s filled with apples, hot & cold water. This is perfect for pre-hike, beach, or any outdoor activities! Make sure to bring or buy a water bottle and just re-fill it at this hydration station.

Being that this hotel used to be called “Hilton Prince Kuhio”, there’s still a room dedicated to Prince Kuhio. With Hawaiian artifacts and history to read. To read the story of Prince Kuhio, visit here.

Located on the lobby level is the LBLE Lounge, serving drinks and pupus from 5pm-10pm. Perfect for anyone 21+, especially for guests that had a long flight to Hawaii and are looking for a place within the hotel to have a Mai Tai or two. For the menu, visit here.

EVENTS

Hilton Waikiki Beach has a room specifically to host events. On the 37th floor, highest floor in the hotel lies Altitude @ 37. This place is great for private events such as Baby Showers, Banquets, Birthday Parties, Family Reunion, and so much more. It can accommodate up to 30 guests and offers a panoramic ocean view!

If you enjoy wine, you’ll love 37 Vines which is held at Altitude @ 37. It’s a five-course wine and dinner pairings. For $85 per person, you’ll enjoy a taste of California wines and food prepared by Chef Ray Baysa. Along with a gorgeous sunset view! More info, here.

Fitness Center is open 24 hours; a room key is required. It’s complete with a treadmill, elliptical cross-trainer, and bike.

Located on the 10th floor is the Rooftop Pool and Sun Deck. From 7am-10pm, guests can enjoy the heated pool, yes HEATED! You’re probably thinking, Hawaii’s weather is warm enough for a heated pool, but it gets quite chilly at night sometimes. Having a heated pool for night swims is perfect!

There’s also The Hang 10 Pool Bar, which offers island favorites from handcrafter cocktails and pupus. What’s a .better way to enjoy a pool day with a Mai Tai in hand?

One of our favorite amenities at the hotel was the Towel Tracker where you can get clean towels and dispose of after use. These Towel Trackers are available at the pool deck and lobby. No attendants needed and you can grab as many towels as you want with your room key. We brought the towels to the beach as well!

Hilton Waikiki Beach also offers other amenities such as the business center, concierge, and gift shop.

• Business Center: Open 24 hours, guests are able to use the computer, fax machine, and printer.
• Concierge: When it comes to local activities, they’re the experts! Stop by the concierge to ease the planning and booking. They’re available from 7am-9pm.
• Gift Shop: From 7am-10pm, you’re able to purchase snacks, coffee (Starbucks), souvenirs, and much more!

GAZEBO

The outdoor Gazebo was such a picturesque place! This is a perfect setting for wedding ceremonies, outdoor performances, receptions and more. Who knew there’s a beautiful garden in the middle of the city, making you feel like elsewhere.

RESTAURANT

Next to the outdoor gazebo is M.A.C. 24/7, restaurant located in Hilton Waikiki Beach. M.A.C stands for Modern American Cuisine and is open 24 hours, daily. Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu all day! It was our first time dining here, and we were blown away by their food portions and incredible tasting cocktails!

This is also the home of the world-famous 5 lbs. M.A.C. Daddy Pancakes as seen on Travel Channel’s Man V. Food. If you think you have what it takes to devour this, you’ll have your photo taken and posted on the wall right in front of the restaurant entrance.

EXECUTIVE KING OCEAN VIEW ROOM

The Executive Rooms here at the Hilton Waikiki Beach are located on higher floors from the Glass door8th floor and above. Our room included:

• Internet – WiFi and wired Internet access
• Entertainment – 42-inch flat-screen TV with premium channels, pay movies, iPod dock
• Food & Drink – Refrigerator, coffee/tea maker, and 24-hour room service
• Bathroom – Glassdoor shower and designer toiletries – This room did not come with a bathtub.
• Others – Phone, laptop-compatible safe, and free weekday newspaper; free cribs/infant beds available on request, Air conditioning and daily housekeeping, Non-Smoking.

The private balcony was our favorite! We had a corner room which made our balcony very roomy with a mountain and ocean view. Even though there were buildings around, we were still able to see the ocean view and sunset!

EXECUTIVE LOUNGE

While we stayed in the Executive Room, we had access to the Executive Lounge. If you’re a Diamond Hilton HHonors member, you also are guaranteed access to the lounge. The lounge is available for breakfast buffet and evening Hors d’oeuvre. Hilton Waikiki Beach is the only ‘Hilton hotel’ that has the Executive Lounge in Waikiki.

The Hilton Waikiki Beach remains to be a great hotel located in Waikiki. Being that it’s only one block away from the beach, this is an incredible place to stay! With the hotel being in the middle of Waikiki, you still feel like you’re away from the hustle and bustle of the fantastic city. With fantastic amenities (outdoor gazebo, rooftop pool, and bar), views, and 24/7 services, this is a great hotel to stay!
