From a small island to the big apple – We arrived in New York City, jumped in our uber, and got to our hotel just in time for check-in. We were visiting for four days and beyond excited to be staying in the heart of the city with InterContinental New York Times Square. We loved how conveniently located it is, only a block away from Times Square, while also being surrounded by high-rated restaurants and lots of shopping opportunities!
When we arrived, the hotel staff at the front were very kind, opened our doors and helped us with our luggage. We also noticed that the staff were helping guests assist with getting taxis! Is that a typical service for hotels in New York? If so, that’s fascinating!
As soon as we stepped out of the car, we walked through the revolving doors, checked-in and admired the beauty of the lobby!
AMENITIES
While we usually show our room in the beginning of our hotel posts, we decided to save the best for last! ???? The first place we checked out was the 24-hour Fitness Center featuring state-of-the-art cardio equipment. Everything was clean and they had a spot for fresh towels and ice cold water.
RESTAURANT + BAR
The Stinger is located in the hotel and it’s a cocktail bar and kitchen by Todd English! Todd English is an American celebrity chef who cooks up the most amazing dishes on his own show, Food Trip with Todd English. We definitely visited The Stinger a few times during our stay.
The Stinger had ample tables and seats, perfect for groups! During the day, it’s a great place for morning coffee, afternoon tea or late night cocktails with light bites to devour. Sitting by the fireplace, drinking wine with good company sounds like the best night in the city!
BREAKFAST BUFFET
The breakfast buffet for InterContintental hotel is also served at The Stinger. While the cocktail bar is not open during breakfast, they still offer juices, mimosa, and other drinks. The buffet is full of fresh fruits and lots of breakfast food choices! We absolutely love that there’s a breakfast buffet at the hotel, making it very convenient! If you don’t feel like eating at The Stinger, a 24-hour room service is also available.
SKY VIEW ROOM
Now, for the best part of all: the room. We stayed in the sky view room on the 33rd floor. It offers a lot of space even with a luxury king size bed, work desk area, gourmet mini bar with Keurig coffee maker, flat screen tv and an iHome dock and USB charging ports next to the bed.
Fully stocked gourmet bar! Should you decide to stay in, you’re all taken care of with drinks – don’t forget, you can just order through the room service also!
Let’s face it, we always wanna see the bathroom when we stay at hotels. We absolutely love the walk-in rain shower with fully stocked Botanical bath amenities by Agraria. It’s like a mini spa.
THE VIEW
Our favorite part of the room was the city view! We literally could stay in bed all day and just take it all in! The view was so magical, especially at night. Seeing the city lights from your bed was the most breathtaking stay we’ve ever had!
Some things to take in consideration while staying at the InterContinental New York Times Square:
- Wifi is an option. If you choose the option to use the hotel wifi, it’s available for an additional price.
- No time to do your hair and makeup for an event? Professional in-room hair and makeup services provided by NOMI Beauty is available during your stay!
- If you need Airport pick-up, taxi, car rental, or limousine services, the hotel can arrange it!
After our stay at InterContinental New York Times Square and the amazing service by the staff, we definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the city. We had a very wonderful and comfortable stay!
