The beautiful Nita Lake Lodge. We didn’t want to leave! The lodge is relatively new, only built in 2008, which makes it a high-end, reliable place to stay if around Whistler. Before visiting the area (our primary goal was to visit Whistler), we had no idea that decent living spots were available. Nita Lodge was perfect.

467A3809We hoped for a place that was lively but also connected to nature in some way, almost like a cabin. All rooms are suites and have easily lit fireplaces (auto, no chopping of wood necessary)! Every room has summer and winter photos also which was very awesome.

That attention to detail put me in a good mood after seeing it!

We could only imagine how beautiful the frozen lake looks like during other times of the year. There are also boats you can take out during the summer. Winter had its moments of beauty, though; we loved lighting the fire every night by the touch of a button.  Waking up to a new snowfall and receiving even more during breakfast, before our spa, was a humbling experience. We don’t receive snow on Oahu if you’re curious, so humbling was a perfect way to describe the moment. The world is different, everywhere you go. Getting things put into perspectives is one reason we love traveling!

Our dogs, Bear & Blitz, were missed every day. In a casual conversation, it was hard not to bring up our hairballs of joy. It broke our heart but also spiked encouragement for the rest of the world in the fact that Nita Lake Lodge is a pet-friendly locale. Dogs were everywhere! Landon spent one morning petting a gorgeous Husky named Shelly. The path pictured above is used for walking dogs and general exercise.

Walking around @nitalakelodge to the train tracks in the surrounding vicinity is the cherry on top after a VERY relaxing Spa experience! #littlethingswhistler

ROOM

Coat hanger at the entrance with a bench to take shoes off. We found it very convenient!

A french press for your coffee! Complimentary coffee and tea are available. This Mini kitchen with a small fridge is enough to warm up food or cook some ramen.  It’s designed minimally and tucked away like a clothing closet.

The basalt gas fireplace with an easy on and off switch was turned on every night! It heats up the place but a little cold on our end (being from Hawaii). A thermostat located near the bathroom entrance can be an alternative or even a complimentary heat source.

The bathroom and shower area were beautiful! Note the two pictures, mentioned before, hanging above the bathtub: summer and winter at Nita Lodge. Which would you prefer?

Balcony with two couch-chairs overlooking the frozen lake was a nice spot for a cup of coffee.

SPA + WELLNESS

They have a spa and offer yoga classes on premises. We didn’t realize how magical a spa in the winter season is until we received on at Nita Lodge.

DINING

A pleasant place to have a few drinks and eat small dishes. Much of our work is computer based, making sitting around a fireplace with a beer, perfect for congregating and chilling out, after getting some work done in the area. Aura Restaurant, Cure Lounge & Patio, and Fix Café are places within the premises you can grab a bit to eat during all times of the day.

With pet-friendly services, spa massages, snowy days, and a warm fireplace, we didn’t want to leave Nita Lake Lodge! We wish we had more time to explore the different walkways around Nita and all the amenities they offer. It was a very welcoming experience just by its ambience alone. We liked it so much we wished we had booked longer, making it a goal to stay here again during summer!
