Our latest staycation brought us near Honolulu Zoo. It’s located on the edge of Kapiolani Park with an unobstructed view of Diamond Head. We checked-in to Queen Kapiolani Hotel which is just a few steps away from Waikiki Beach. It’s central to Waikiki nightlife, shopping, and eateries.

Queen Kapiolani Hotel went through an interior renovation which was completed in October 2018. With upgrades improving the guest rooms, corridors, lobby, pool and restaurant deck, and other interior spaces. Although we did not stay at Queen Kapiolani prior to the renovation, we see the modern touch to the property.
EAT & DRINK AT QUEEN KAPIOLANI HOTEL
At the Queen Kapiolani Hotel, they have one coffee shop, a restaurant and room service available. Knots Coffee Roasters offers coffee and a bar seating area. It’s a great space to do some digital work with tables and outlets. Their restaurant, Deck. offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Along with their in-room dining (food from Deck.).

QUEEN KAPIOLANI HOTEL AMENITIES
From fitness, shopping, and activities, the Queen Kapiolani Hotel seems to have it all together for guests!
Gym: One of our things to do while staying at a hotel is checking out their gym. The Queen Kapiolani hotel has a state of the art fitness center! The fitness center is open 24 hours a day and has modern equipment such as stationary bikes, treadmills, TRX, free weights, and my personal favorite, kettlebells! As well as foam rollers and yoga mats. Classes like Hot Hula, Yoga, Running Club and Pop-Up Wellness Workshops can be found here.
Pool: The pool is located on the 3rd floor next to the Deck. restaurant. The pool area has comfy lounge chairs, towels, cold water station, and eco-friendly organic sunscreen station. The pool area also overlooks the beautiful Diamond Head. If you decide to head to the beach, you can borrow beach chairs and towels to take to the beach (no additional cost). Ask the hotel lobby for their daily surf lesson demonstrations as well!
Shop: Keeping the art and surf culture, there are shops available at the lobby level such as the Greenroom Gallery, Hans Hedemann Surf shop, and Aloha Whip. Upon checking-in, get your welcome Dole Pineapple Whip sample at Aloha Whip – so delicious!
Activities: When it comes to activities, The Queen Kapiolani hotel has thought it all through: During your stay, experience the best local activities such as Haku lei making workshops, Hawaiian cocktail making class, local live music, yoga classes, surf lessons, SUP (stand-up paddleboard) lessons, paint and sip, and more!
DIAMOND HEAD VIEW ROOM
We stayed at a Diamond Head View Room with one king bed. The price ranges from $190-$250 per night depending on seasonal rates. It has an outstanding view of the iconic Diamond Head – sunrise was spectacular! Grab a coffee from Knots Coffee Roasters and enjoy the morning sunrise view from your private balcony!
