Out on Ko’olina’s Gold Course lies a hidden gem: Roy’s Restaurant. We went during the lunch hour for a friend’s birthday. Before other guests arrived, we explored around as it was our first time. The location had beautiful scenery and provided a peaceful ambiance. Stairs from the restaurant led to a path (mainly used for golf carts) which allowed for a pleasant stroll.
The pathway led us to this lake full of Black Swans. These things were huge and noisy!
I’m laughing in this picture because these swans were so loud and followed us, possibly thinking we were going to feed them. In about 10 minutes every swan in the lake was in our little corner, gawking. It was a hilarious little side adventure. We bailed shortly after because we thought it was probably going to draw some attention from the staff.
Getting back from exploring, most of our group had arrived and began ordering. Check out the menu, here.
Roy’s Dim Sum Appetizer for Two | Spicy Miso Ahi Maki, Shrimp Tempura, Blackened Island Ahi, Mongolian Ribs, Chinatown Chicken Spring Rolls
Moriawase Sashimi | Island Ahi, Tako, NZ King Salmon, Japanese Hamachi, Kona Kampachi
Sweet & Savory Honey Glazed Wings | Garlic Shrimp & Fries
Roy’s did have main dishes however, all these appetizers made us full. We had a large party which resulted in 2-3 orders of the same appetizer which filled us up! It was a lovely weekend lunch and the seafood dishes were phenomenal!
