While booking a hotel on Expedia for a recent Las Vegas trip, I came across a nice, modern hotel that I’ve never heard of before. What used to be Sahara Hotel & Casino is now newly transformed into a luxury hotel, SLS Las Vegas. SLS is a perfect place to stay if you don’t want to be right on the strip. It’s only 4 miles away from the McCarran International Airport.
ACCOMMODATION
I booked us the World Superior King room which had a king size bed and two full-size mirrors. Perfect for our girls trip since we always look for mirrors to get ready (First world problems haha). For 3 girls, we each had our own station to prep since the desk also had a vanity mirror.
Pros:
• Clean and spacious
• Full length mirrors with lights
• Laundry Service
• Spacious shower with glass door
Cons:
• No fridge or microwave
• Minimal closet storage
• No tub
AMENITIES
SLS Las Vegas has two pools which are: the Foxtail Pool and LUX Pool. The photo above features the Foxtail Pool which turns into day and nightlife experience.
Other amenities at SLS includes:
• Ciel Spa & Salon
• Fitness Center
• FedEx Business Center
It wouldn’t be a hotel in Vegas if it didn’t have a casino! SLS has 600 slots and 60 table games to choose from. In the middle of the casino is the Center Bar which is open 24 hours. One of the coolest features at the Center Bar is a LED fixture that hangs overhead and has a 3D video that plays day and night. (check out what I’m talking about, here.)
RESTAURANTS
SLS Hotel offers a number of restaurants for guests and visitors to dine-in. During our stay, we ate at Northside Cafe, 800 degrees (customize your own pizza) and Umami Burger (favorite place to go every time I go to California or Las Vegas). Other restaurants in the building are:
• Bazaar Meat by Jose Andres (Steakhouse)
• Katsuya (Japanese cuisine)
• Cleo (Mediterranean cuisine)
• The Perq (Coffee and pastries)
DAY & NIGHTLIFE
SLS definitely knows how to keep guests happy from dusk to dawn. Whether you’re going out with friends or going on a date, there are many fun places to get some drinks around the hotel. Don’t forget to check out the events if there are any special guests. Here is the list of places to go:
• The Foundry
• Foxtail Nightclub
• Foxtail Pool
• Sayers Club
• Monkey Bar
• Center Bar
During our stay in SLS, we were more than satisfied with the venue. We loved the hotel and all that it offered. When you visit Las Vegas, definitely stay at the modern and luxury hotel, SLS Las Vegas. It’s great for those that do not want to stay on the strip and be away from the hustle and bustle but still want a luxurious stay.
