Whenever we plan a trip, visiting a popular eatery or restaurant is added to our to-do list! We use either yelp or Instagram to search for these places. During our Big Island trip in March, we visited Vibe Cafe & Health Bar. For this specific place, I found them through their gorgeous photos of their food and aesthetics on Instagram. IE, perfect for social media.
Vibe Cafe & Health Bar opened in September 2018 in Hilo, Hawaii. Serving the best vegan and vegetarian meals! Along with delicious meals, they have coffee (100% Hawaii grown), tea, rainbow lattes (not coffee), handcrafted lemon/lime “ades”, and ceremonial beverages (such as kava or kratom)! The best part is that you are able to add Kratom (locally grown on the Big Island) and/or CBD (100% derived from hemp grown in Colorado) to anything for a small extra charge.
Warning and Disclaimers: You must be 21 years of age to purchase and consume kava, kratom, or CBD.
VIBE DRINKS
We had refreshing and soothing drinks such as Beet Latte ($5.50), Lavender Lemonade ($4), Ginger Mint Limeade ($4), Kava ($5.50), and Mushroom Latte ($7.50). Our favorite would have to be the Mushroom Latte! Check out the menu, here.

VIBE FOOD
We had some amazing, tasty dishes such as Vibe Breakfast Toast ($8.95), Hello Hilo Jackfruit Nachos ($16), The Big Nasty Burger ($14), and Acai Bowl ($14). It’s hard to choose a favorite because they were all so delicious! But if we had to pick a favorite, it would be The Big Nasty Burger and close second is the Acai Bowl! It’s the best vegan burger we’ve ever had and the freshest acai bowl hands down! Check out the menu, here.

Words really can’t express how amazing this place is! We HIGHLY recommend visiting Vibe Cafe & Health Bar to anyone and everyone in a heartbeat! Letter to the owner: please open one on Oahu! We could definitely eat here daily if we could.

WHERE TO STAY ON THE BIG ISLAND
Airbnb: This is similar to staying at a friends house but instead, you have to pay. Although, it may be cheaper than most hotels in an area. It’s a great and convenient alternative to booking at hostels or luxury hotels. If this is your first time booking at an Airbnb, use this link to get you a $40 credit for free for your first stay!
Hotels: We recommend staying at The Mauna Kea Hotel or The Westin Hapuna. We stayed at both of these hotels during our stay and would recommend simply off the service. The facilities are absolutely breathtaking. If you’re looking for other hotels on the Big Island, use the map below to check out what other hotels is around the area!
