The best thing to do before starting the day is writing a To-Do list! This step is life changing and will definitely make a difference in productivity. Of course, make a list that you’re able to handle in a day.

To help balance the workload, write out your Top 3 things you need to accomplish today and start with the hardest. Remember how waking up early can help you feel successful in our first point? Writing your to-do lists and goals helps you stay organized after an early wake-up. After re-checking your to-do list at the end of the day, you’ll find yourself in awe with how much you’ve done!


Clean up your workspace, turn off the television, and PUT THE PHONE AWAY. As hard as it may seem, staying away from any distractions will help you finish those tasks – which also brings up a point: DO NOT check your phone as soon as you wake up! Alarms are understandable but e-mail and social media updates can wait until you’ve at least cleaned yourself up for the day.

For us, our mornings usually looks like this: exercise, meditation, dropping Landon off to school, taking the dogs for a walk, replying to emails, writing a blog post, and checking the charts.
