After non-stop adventures and enduring countless hours of driving, we opened our schedule for a spa treatment at Remède Spa within the St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort. No better way to spend our last day on vacation than with a rejuvenating massage! We were immediately taken back by the beauty of not only the Spa but of the St. Regis. The entire area was extravagant: massive Chandeliers from above, marble flooring, shimmering walls, and exorbitant artwork guided us to what appeared to be gold accented elevators. The touch pad-state-of-the-art elevators eventually led us to the 5-star spa.

Upon entering Remède Spa, we were greeted by friendly staff who brought us freshly squeezed watermelon juice and warm towels. We received this while filling out the standard check in paper-work for any spa (what are you looking for in the session? Allergies? and so forth).

Shortly after checking-in, Mary and I were separated into our designated changing/bathing areas. It was as if we had inherited a personal butler who tended to our every need – each attendant gave us a tour of all the available amenities: pool, jacuzzi, male/female lounge area, couple lounge area, lockers, showers, sauna, and steam room. The “bathrooms” were more of a walk-in pampering station – extra shampoo, soap, hairdryer, toothbrush & toothpaste, floss, deodorant and much more was at the ready. It was a home comfort, at a spa. Something that topped off our visit was that the employees seemed genuinely happy to help us in any way necessary. It wasn’t forced or overbearing.

After our little tour of the place, we changed into comfy robes and exchanged our sneakers for sandals then placed it all into a locker.

Each waiting area (3 waiting areas) provided healthy snacks: fruits, nuts, and infused lemon-water. Tea or coFfee was also available.

At last, our spa treatment! The beds were heated and could easily be adjusted by the therapist. Our treatment consisted of a deep tissue massage, hot stone pressure rub, feet pampering and an oil scalp massage. Let me just say that the feet massage was the highlight of my experience: it was as if my feet were wrapped in a Ziploc bag filled with petroleum jelly and gently fondled afterward. It obviously wasn’t what I depicted, but that is the best way to describe the incredible sensation my feet was feeling. The feet massage was followed by a strong, deep tissue massage, releasing all tension which then flowed into the hot stone rub, concluding with the scalp massage.

If the treatment beckoned your romance gene, relax in this massive bathtub or rinse off in the waterfall shower. Take your time.

TIP: STAY HYDRATED – Be sure to drink water after your treatment!

This is a high-end spa, which implies a steep price although, it is entirely worth it. No detail is over looked. It is an outstanding spa experience with fantastic facilities and staff. The guest is pampered at all times (or left alone if you choose) making you feel like royalty. You can spend the entire day here and take as much time as needed without the feeling of being rushed. If you’re in the Miami area and looking for first class treatment, be sure to visit Remède Spa!
