AMENITIES
Astonishingly, if you forgot to pack your workout gear, you can pick up, or have delivered to your room, all you need for a hearty workout session. Packing too light, we had to take advantage of this amazing feature. This is an absolute 10/10 idea as begin on vacation is a great time to pick up a pair of running shoes. Best of all, it’s only $5 to rent complete with shoes, socks, shorts, shirt, and socks that come in a handy draw bag.
Too cold for our wintery visit, the pool is located just outside of the gym area. There is also a gym indoor pool and jacuzzi.
The gym has mostly glass walls which is great for families – Kids can play and swim in the pool while their parents are working out within eye-sight.
With the $5 workout package, I headed down to the Fitness Studio and was amazed at their inventory. It was a great little gym with everything you needed – headphones, towels, water, wash towels, and best of all not just static weighs but medicine balls, a pull-up bar, a BOSU ball and more items that could be used in alternate workouts.
Maybe after a long day of working out, checking out the spa would be almost too convenient. Just down the hall from the gym and pool is the spa. Unfortunately, we didn’t make time in our schedule for the spa but it looks lovely passing by.
RESTAURANT & BAR
H2 Rotisserie & Bar – In the mornings, we were greeted with fresh and various cuisines. The Westing Bayshore and just about the best meals from a hotel for every single meal we ate. The seating is a comfortable and contemporary aesthetic.
If you’re looking for a more romantic, chilled atmosphere and a bit more classy, head to the HJU:Z Lounge. With an old-school, 1950’s car parked in front, it screamed classy – we didn’t get to go here but it looks like a great date night place.
HARBOUR VIEW ROOM
Upon arrival, our room greeted us with a pleasant welcoming! Mary loves cheese so this was an amazing surprise!
There’s always something to celebrate – be thankful.
Complimentary water and the standard coffee maker, safe, and refrigerator is there. No microwave (which is interesting because, in our recent travels, I’ve noticed not many hotels include them now)
Bathroom with walk-in shower, no-curtain (always a plus!).
Comfy king size bed with a nightstand/table on each side which includes USB ports to plug electronics in.
The work desk provided ample space for all types of disciplines. The view made it easier to catch up on posts!
It snowed the following day and it was beautiful! It was the first snowfall of the season in Vancouver.
Westin offers a Breakfast-in-Bed which makes it easier if you’re busy (read: lazy) person! All we had to do was choose our items on the menu (shown above) by checking it off and choosing a time for it to be delivered in the morning. They came right on time and the food….oh my the food – tasted just as ambrosial as the restaurants! The meal for two adults cost approximately $100 USD.
