Not a year goes by without us visiting any selection of these shrimp tricks. Whenever we drive out to the North Shore of Oahu, it’s a guarantee that we’ll stop at a shrimp truck for lunch. Being that there are multiple ones on the island of Oahu, we think the best 5 shrimp trucks are located on the North Shore. 5 BEST NORTH SHORE SHRIMP TRUCKS
1. Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck
Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck is our number one shrimp truck we visit multiple times throughout the year. They have our favorite scampi shrimp plate on the island! Their menu is short and sweet: Shrimp Scampi (our favorite), Hot & Spicy shrimp, Lemon & Butter shrimp, and Garlic Hotdog (hot dog in buns with scampi sauce on top). They also have an all-fruit plate!
What’s on the plate? Each plate comes with a lemon, 2 scoops of white rice and 12 pieces of jumbo shrimp.

2. Honos Shrimp Truck

Hono’s Shrimp Truck, in Haleiwa, is right next to Giovanni’s Shrimp Truck. We’ve tried Hono’s a few times and it’s pretty good. Usually, if Giovanni’s line is way too long, we head over to Hono’s. Their garlic shrimp doesn’t have that much garlic but their shrimp plate is served fresh and warm. On the menu, they have Garlic Shrimp, Butter Shrimp, BBQ Shrimp, and Pineapple Shrimp.They also have Kalbi (short ribs) plates which we’ve never tried yet.
What’s on the plate? Each plate comes with coleslaw, 2 scoops of white rice, and 12 pieces of shrimp.

3. Romy’s Kahuku Prawns & Shrimp Truck
Romy’s Kahuku Prawns & Shrimp Truck is always busy just like the other best shrimp trucks but they accept phone orders. If your about 30 minutes away, do the phone order! I love how they pack on the garlic shrimp on the plates. You can even order it with extra, extra garlic! I wouldn’t recommend it though because they already put so much garlic. It’s not as buttery as Giovanni’s or Honos but still so good!
What’s on the plate? Each plate comes varies since it can be customized but generally it comes with 2 scoops of white rice with 12 pieces of shrimp.

4. Big Wave Shrimp
Big Wave Shrimp Truck offers very little garlic on the plates, however, it’s still a local favorite. This is the only place we know that offers a “peeled” off garlic shrimp plate! On their menu, aside from the garlic shrimp plate, they also have crunchy shrimp, spicy shrimp, and lemon peppered shrimp. Also, they have a steak plate, short ribs plate, combo plate, and spring rolls.
What’s on the plate? Each plate comes with pineapple, white rice, and 11 pieces of shrimp.

Cash or Card? Accepts cash and card. They also offer kama’aina and military discounts.

5. Fumi’s Shrimp Truck
Fumi’s Kahuku Shrimp Truck the most shrimp plates on their menu. They have a total of 10 different shrimp plates from Garlic shrimp, spicy, lemon pepper, tempura, coconut, and so much more. Their shrimp tasted a bit different than the rest of the shrimp trucks. It was a bit sweet along with the garlic taste (garlic shrimp plate), it tasted as if they marinated their shrimp. Overall, it was still great and I can’t wait to try their coconut shrimp!
What’s on the plate? Each plate comes with a pineapple, salad, 2 scoops of white rice, and 9 pieces of shrimp.
